Sports Star Award
CONGRATULATIONS NQ DISTRICT TEAM!
2025 District Sides Tournament, bowls was in the spotlight on Saturday night at the NQ Sports Foundation 35th annual NQ Sport Star gala awards night held at the Townsville Entertainment Centre.
NQDLBA was shortlisted as one of the 88 finalists chosen from over 200 nominations for the 9 categories of awards.
The nominations came from the whole of North Queensland (Mackay to Torres Strait to Mt Isa – representing some 20 Local Government Areas).
Pam Power, Susan Pizzi and Tiarna Rogers joined NQDLBA President Lynette Riches at the awards night – among over 340 guests.
As a finalist we were alongside a diverse listing of sports, and achievements so how good was it for the guest speaker Sam Thaiday to mention our sport as something that perhaps he should try!
NQ Management is proud that our team was acknowledged as part of the stellar sporting talent from North Queensland.
While we did not bring home the Team of the Year award, we were presented with a certificate and a unique trophy as a finalist.
The trophy is made from a piece of a 200-year-old tree that was felled at Pallarenda during TC Kirrily.
Well done in 2025!
