NQ Championships Wrap
The 2026 NQDLBA Championships concluded at South Townsville Bowls Club, crowning champions across multiple disciplines after a week of fierce competition that fielded players south to Rockhampton, west to Mt Isa and north to Cairns.
Terry McAlary defeated Penny Warren in the Singles, both players being the most consistent during the competition and well deserving of their spot in the final.
Pairs winners Carmel De Zen & Denise Charmen (skip) held off a determined Irene Wilson & Pam Power in a nail-biting finish to win on the last end.
Denise Wallace, Denise Davis, Penny Warren & Bernadette Hay (skip) were too strong for Lyn Emery, Robyn Engert, Pam Bailey & Rhonda Tawse (skip), winning the Fours Competition back-to-back.
The Rozwil Trophy for the player with the most wins over the tournament was jointly awarded to Penny Warren & Terry McAlary.
NQ congratulates all players!
