Unification, amalgamation or takeover?

Representatives from both Men and Women NQ have begun negotiations in an effort to merge the two bodies together.

Bowls QLD have encouraged Districts to discuss the benefits of, and decide whether to proceed with, discussions towards unification.

The potential benefits of unification could lead to greater flexibility in competition formats, more efficient administration of events, and increased opportunities for players to participate in mixed and open gender events.

Unification promotes a shared understanding of information, fostering better collaboration and communication across Clubs. Unification can also strengthen the relationship between NQ Men and Women with a sense of shared purpose and common goals.

The unification process involves a series of steps, including District general meetings, constitution and by-law amendments, and the establishment of a unified management committee.

Once the unification process is complete, competitions will be reviewed to determine the future of pennant and other events.
