Chapman Trophy

The Chapman Trophy is a ‘home and away’ competition contested by South Townsville, Suburban and Thuringowa City.

Originally named R & J Trophy, the fours competition ran from 1988 – 2002.  Five Townsville Clubs competed, including Cutheringa & Jubilee. In 2004 the competition re-emerged under the name of Chapman Trophy.  

The aim was to  to give new bowlers competition experience.  With a decline in new players, the competition was opened up to all players regardless of experience.

The format presently sits at pairs (2), triples and fours using 11 players in total.

Thuringowa City are the reigning Chapman Trophy Champions in 2025.
